Use without throttle

Bromfit works normally only when the throttle is connected.
If the throttle is not connected, the motor will turn off under certain circumstances and will not operate until the power is turned off and on again. The situation that the motor is turned off is when the speed exceeds the set speed limit or when the speed is over 40Km/h.
If the throttle is connected, the motor will not turn off. We recommend connecting and using throttle.

However, if you can not connect the throttle, please try the following method.

The tip today is to isolate the throttle and connect the sensor only so that no problems occur when the throttle is not connected.

Throttle, screwdriver, neodymium magnet, shrink tube, adhesive is required.

1. Disassemble the throttle and remove only the sensor and cable. If you cut the wires that secure the cables, only the sensors and cables will be removed.

2. Apply adhesive to sensor and attach neodymium magnet. At this time, you should attach the "N" pole of the magnet to the front of the sensor (the part number is printed). (Please check the picture)

3. Using a shrink tube, wrap the magnet so that it does not fall off.

4. Connect the controller to the controller throttle terminal well.

If a Hall sensor (SS49E) is available, it can be connected to the throttle connector. At this time, neodymium magnet is attached to the hall sensor.

The controller case, fabric material, is changed to a case made of artificial leather.

Strong and good design

 Mounting method.

Tie the wires using cable ties.

Insert the motor wire and battery wire into the bottom hole of the case.
Then place the controller in the center of the bag.

Attach the controller case to the top of the handle bar stem.

Refer to the Installation Guide for wiring details.

Install Guide

This is a tool required for installation.

From left: 1) Spanner, 2) Pliers, 3) 4mm hex wrench, 4) 3mm hex wrench, 5) nipper, 6) BB tool(Park Tool BBT-4), 7) 8mm hex wrench, 8) square crank separation tool.

The slim package can be mounted only with tools 1) to 5), and full package requires tools 6) to 8).

Turn the Brompton over and let the wheel go up.
Remove the front wheel.

Mount the motor wheel as pictured. (Motor cable position is important)

It is the part that fixes the Brompton fender and the hook. Spread this part slightly with a tool such as a pliers as shown below.

Insert the parts in the order shown above (Mugguard fixing washer-washer) and lock the nuts. The other side is the same. The original part - washer-nut.

Loosen the crank fixing screw with an 8 mm hexagon wrench. The direction to release is left.

Turn the square crank tool to the position where the crank fixing screw is removed.

Lock the rear bolt to the right with a spanner. As the bolt locks, the crank that is inserted into the BB is pushed out and separated. Separate the opposite crank arm in the same way.

Remove BB using BBT-4. The turning direction is right. Please note that it is the opposite of the normal screw loosening direction.

Remove the BB

Insert the sensor into BB and lock it again. At this time, when the mount (iron material) that fixes the PAS sensor is turned inward, it is easy to tighten because there is no interference with the tool when assembling the bezel.

BB is locked. When locked, turn to the left. Please note that it is the opposite of normal screw.

PAS sensor combined. That position is appropriate. If you are facing the bottom of the bicycle, interference will occur when folding, and the cable will not look natural at the top.

When assembling the BB, you can see the bent sensor to reduce interference with the tool. Pull in the opposite direction.

The part that enables the PAS sensor to detect the pedaling. The direction of the arrow is the direction of rotation. Arrows should be inserted in the bevel direction.

Even if you do not push it to the end, it will be pushed when you attach the crank.
The distance between the PAS sensor and the magnet rotating plate should be within 2 mm.

Just put it in so that you can fit the crank.
Tie the PAS cable using a cable tie so that it does not get caught.

Lock the crank fixing screw to the right with the hexagon wrench. The opposite crank arm can be mounted in the same way.

After taking off the handle grips and install the accelerator lock and secure with hex wrench.

Mount the display as shown in the picture below, then lock it with a hexagonal wrench. At this time, just lock the display so that its position (angle) can be adjusted. After confirming that there is no folding interference later, you can fix it.

This button controls the power on / off and PAS step. Open the mount section without removing the handle grip. If you open it too much, the mount plastic part will be damaged. Secure the fixing bolts with a hexagon wrench. At this time, the bolt locks only to the extent that the mount does not move. If tightened, it will be damaged.

Attach the controller bag to the handlebar.
Through the hole in the bag, the display cable and throttle cable are inserted into the bag and connected to the motor controller.
You can connect the same shape, same color connector.

The motor wiring is arranged along the front brake line. Like the photo, it ties the break line and the motor wiring by the cable tie to the brake line ring part.

Firmly insert the motor connector so that the direction of the arrow faces as shown in the picture. Firmly insert it to the marking line.

Tie the motor cable to the fork.

Tighten the cable length and tie it with cable ties.

How to adjust brake pad height

This is how to adjust the height when the brake pads and tires touch when installing the BromFit Kit.

First, ①loosen the brake pad height adjustment bolts and lower the brake pads so that they do not touch the tires.

Secondly, if the first method does not solve the problem, loosen the ②nut and press the brake caliper down to lock the nut. The pad position goes down by 1 to 2 mm.

If the brake pad touches the tire even if it is adjusted as above, the third method is to use the "Brake pad position adjustment washer".

Install Guide - Brake pad height adjustment washer

① This is a washer for brake pad height adjustment. Loosen the ②nut and place it in the position of ④ as shown ⑤, then tighten ② nut. Pressing down on the ③brake caliper while tightening ② nut, the position of the brake pad will be lowered.

Installation is complete.

The BromFit Electric Bicycle Conversion Kit uses a 36V Li-ion battery with an XT60 connector.
Batteries are recommended for O BAG, S BAG and other Brompton bags.
(Batteries are not sold due to air transportation restrictions.)

How it works
- Press the control panel power button on the handlebar.
- The LCD backlight turns on and off, and the unit turns on.
- Press the Up and Down buttons on the control panel to change the PAS level.
- The PAS works in 1 ~ 5 steps. The larger the number, the easier it is to pedal.
- When the product is turned on, press the power button briefly to turn on the backlight of the display.
- If the bike does not move for 5 minutes, the power automatically turns off.
